That is unless you already put 5000hrs into the game, in which case you probably essentially need a total conversion mod. IMO mods are more about usefulness, some tweaks and perhaps immersion.

Speaking of followers, there are some great follower mods that add alot to the game. allows me to pick up arrows after shooting them, improves the AI of my followers, vendor contents or makes the skill trees more balanced/logical. Then i use some convinience stuff that i.e. Many of them are graphic mods that improve the looks of water, sky, armor, weapons, flora, texture resolution etc.
